Eduard Manet: Bar at the Folies-Bergére (1881-82)
Manet’s depictions of the women at the Folies-Bergére are much more heavily impressionistic than his earlier work. In this work, one of his most celebrated, the brush strokes are more free and expressive, it is almost unclear that the noise in the background of the woman are people, but the overall atmosphere of his subject is clearly defined.

Eduard Manet: Railroad (1872-73)
Manet painted through the transition between realism and impressionism. His style bridges the gap between the movements, resulting in an almost placeless quality to his work.
